Chris Wright serves as Lead Pastor of Eastgate Forerunner Fellowship, and as a co-leader of the House of Prayer & Missions Base, serves on the Eldership, and on the Board of Directors. By God’s extravagant kindness & grace, he does so alongside his closest friends, founders & directors Kirk & Cheryl Smith, and a passionate & gifted leadership team.
Community & discipleship are vital means by which we grow, and Chris oversees pastoral & small group ministry at Eastgate; Catechism; as well as men’s ministry and Restoring the Foundations healing ministry.
Chris has a deep passion for the beauty & presence of the Lord, and is moved by Jesus’ heart for people, His church, Canada, and revival. He loves the Word & Spirit, and sacraments, and the apostolic grace to help build Christ’s glorious church. Prior to Eastgate, Chris and his wife Reagen were members & leaders of a fellowship on the west coast for 20 years, and were core leaders of a church plant there, while involved in a second.
Core values include knowing our identity as God's adopted children and beloved; abiding in Christ; and maturing into the fullness of Christ – restored and every part flourishing in diversity & unity - a glorious church carrying the life & light of the gospel to the world.
In addition to building, pastoring & teaching, he is called to leadership in prayer & worship, in which he has served for over two decades. Chris was a part of Canada's first-ever house of prayer from its foundation, and continues to serve in other national prayer ministries. He firmly believes that everything stems from a lifestyle of prayer. He is an author, songwriter, and scholar. Other areas of ministry focus include counselling, and justice & mercy.
Chris & his beautiful wife Reagen moved from the west coast of Canada to join Eastgate, and now live in Quispamsis/Rothesay, near Saint John, New Brunswick. God’s good gifts include reading, writing & music; home, land & garden; badminton, biking & boating; and adventures & travel together with his wife, enjoying & exploring the glory of creation.
